When to buy: this one is seasonal
Worth being direct: room parent gifting is concentrated almost entirely in April, May, and early June. Volunteer Appreciation Week in April and end-of-year in May and June are when nearly all of these are bought, usually by a teacher or a PTA committee thanking their volunteers.
